HOW IT HAPPENED
Chapter 1 - Los Cabos [July 28, 2025]
Marcella told Kathlyn she had plans for a birthday dinner at the hotel next door. Walking over through the sand, they instead came upon a private table set on the beach, a cold bottle of wine waiting for them and a bouquet of roses for Kathlyn. As they listened to the waves, Marcella casually mentioned that some music would be nice—and just then, a mariachi trio appeared from behind Kathlyn, serenading her with her favorite boleros Marcella had chosen in advance.
Midway through dinner, a song especially meaningful to their relationship began to play. Marcella stood, got down on one knee, and Kathlyn began to cry as sparkle fountains lit the moment. She said yes. After a long embrace, they finished dinner and stepped straight into their engagement photo session—capturing the real, unfiltered joy that still fills them today.
Chapter 2 - Disneyland [February 10, 2026]
A month before Valentine’s Day, Kat surprised Marcella with tickets to Disneyland’s Sweethearts’ Night. The evening began with character dining alongside Kat’s mom and sister, sharing dinner, laughter, and photos before the special event officially began. The plan was to part ways afterward and enjoy the night on their own. As they made their way toward the castle, a show was just ending. They lingered for a moment, admiring the lights and music as the crowd thinned and the castle glowed in front of them.
Then Kat turned to Marcella, got down on one knee, and made her proposal. It was thoughtful and deliberate—Kat wanted Marcella to have the experience of being proposed to, and to wear a ring of her own. A second yes, given with the same certainty as the first. After pictures and celebrating with friends and family, they spent the rest of evening running through Disneyland in Mickey bride ears, meeting characters, catching special shows, and celebrating the kind of love that always thinks of the other first.
